Aldershot Stadium

This was the headquarters of spedeworth stockcar racing limited from 1961with stadiums also at wimbeldon, eastbourne, yarmouth and new cross and another venue about to start at oxford, the organisations business was conducted from (HQ) aldershot, this included drivers and mechanics licence applications along with drivers bookins were drivers were also issued with a rulebook and racing number.

Formula 2 stockcars were the first and original formula untill around 1962, then the new HOT ROD formula was introduced in the midlands also making an appearance at aldershot, ipswich and wimbledon and then at all spedeworth venues.

Spedeworth newsletter wheelspin along with the stockcar journal originally published in 1965 as the journal of formula 2 stockcar racing which by 1967 had became the stockcar and hot rod journal. Spedeworth later purchased in brighton the company that printed all their material eg stockcar journal, programmes and newsletters this lasted untill about 1971 when the journal ceased publication.

1966 action

Boxing day at aldershot in 1966,after a short break in racing drivers on boxing day seem to have difficulty in deciding in which way round they should go, the ice didn't help matters either(top and bottom pictures)
