Foxhall Heath Stadium Ipswich

In spedeworth controll since 1961 and the venue for the first formula 2 world championship, for the first five seasons the track was shale and suffered acute dust problems, watering helped but in very hot conditions the dust was back sometimes making it difficult to see for the drivers and spectators.

In wet weather the track often became flooded in hard downpours, in 1961 jan scott won the first ever formula 2 world championship at foxhall heath.

In 1966 the foxhall heath track was resurfaced with tarmac, the 1966 formula 2 british championship was held as a two day meeting probably a first in stock car racing history and has carried on to the present day as the national hotrod world championship venue always staged in july.
