Early in 1965 spedeworth Scotland came about after drivers in scotland were left with stock cars ready to race, but no promoter or stadium to race at, the scottish drivers informed Les Eaton at spedeworth of their plight, a three day trip to renfrew scotland insued to find a suitable location to build a stadium along with Gwen and Roy Cecil two employees of spedeworth limited who had agreed to run the meetings in scotland, negotiations with albion rovers football team resulted in a stockcar track being constructed around the ouside of the football field.

Two more stadiums quickly followed at central park, Cowdenbeath in august 1965 and at Carntyne in july 1966 in Glasgow this being the only tarmac raceway in scotland at that time.
